More Group is growing at a rapid pace and as a result is searching for several motivated, experienced, savvy Senior Storage Engineers who have a solid working knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager or Commvault. As a senior storage engineer you will work closely with our clients to provide pre and post sales technical assistance as it relates to the installation, customization and deployment of enterprise-wide storage solutions.
You will utilize your experience with other open systems storage management and recovery software solutions such as Tivoli TSM, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup and BackupExec, Legato and CA Arcserve. Additionally, you will utilize your extensive experience configuring and supporting NT/Windows 2000, AIX and other Open Systems and related devices.
A significant responsibility will be overseeing the support and installation of the More Group solutions and services. There is a close working relationship with the sales team where you will be researching customer requirements and conducting site visits to explain and demonstrate the benefits of the proposed technologies. Your expertise in Disk and Tape technologies, as well as SAN and all other related information storage systems will be significantly utilized across our diverse customer base.
This position will be a Technical Lead position and will require leadership abilities and strong consultative skills to architect, design and implement solutions for Fortune 1000 Customers on a regional and national scope. Additionally, your role will be responsible for assisting in the creation and delivery of Data Protection services for our customers. This position will report directly to the Director of Services.
Specific Duties:
* Designing Disaster Recovery Plans and implementation of various Back Up and Recovery Software
* Installing, Configuring, Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning of multiple hardware and software for backup and recovery
* Involved in architecting and designing optimal Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions customized towards client needs
* Implementing SAN and Network Attached Storage (NAS) with knowledge transfer
* Support and provide expertise on all company proprietary products
* Educate the customers so they understand the value of cost effective Storage Integration Solutions, which enhance the companies overall productivity and competitive growth
Knowledge and Implementation Skills Preferred:
* Strong knowledge of IBM Tivoli TSM, Commvault, or Veritas Netbackup
* Strong knowledge of AIX, Solaris, NT/Windows operating systems
* Microsoft Certification System Engineer a plus, but not required
* Strong knowledge of the IBM pSeries platform, LPAR skills
* Strong knowledge of IBM Storage Subsystems (ESS, DS4000 series, DS8000 series, FAStT)
* Strong knowledge SAN switches and director (Cisco, McData, Brocade)
* Strong knowledge of HACMP

An ideal candidate must possess experience with large-scale, computing environments with knowledge of networking, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), disk subsystems, switches, various operating systems, performance tuning, multiple B/R applications and an understanding of Disaster Recovery planning. Storage Engineers are responsible for installation, configuration and administration of IT related services specific to the storage infrastructure and B/R applications.
